The mobile banking service is an e-banking product that allows subscribers to access their bank account information and other basic banking transactions through your GSM mobile phone anywhere in Nigeria. Using the GSM technology, you can carry out various banking transactions by text messaging services (SMS) regardless or irrespective of the service provider being used. You have the power to effectively monitor your account with your GSM phone anytime. Thus, your bank is in your hand and rightly done on top of your palms. It is cost effective, well secure and equally available 24 hours daily once you register for the service with your bank. Your PIN (personal identification number) will be given to you. The PIN is known only to you and no one else.
To use this service, the customer must have the following:
1. Pin
2. U. Direct GSM phone and a number
3. Contact address
4. Email
How it works
1. Log-on to u-Direct and assign yourself a 4 digit password for SMS service.
2. Click on personal preferences
3. Change SMS password
4. Assign your 4 digit SMS password
5. Specify your primary account number through personal preferences
6. Go to my profile and update your details
7. If you have specified a primary account earlier (it will be tied to this service), you can type ubal 1234 for example
8. From your GSM phone, send text message to the short code 32822
9. (eg. Ubal (space) SMS password to 32822) then wait for a reply.
10. If you don’t specify an account number, your primary account number will be taken by default
11. To set your primary account: click on personal preferences, and then click on my profile, select primary account from the drop down list and click on update profile.
Now, you can start enjoying mobile banking transaction service by text messaging on your GSM phone. You will receive a message on your phone confirming the status of your request.
